Frequently asked Questions
-
We are open every day except Christmas day from 9.30am – 5.00pm. We may also close some catastrophic fire and some extreme weather days.
-
We recommend you allow at least 1.5 – 2 hours to visit the park and see all the animals, presentations and allow for encounter times. Raptor Domain has shows at 11.30am & 2.30pm to factor in as well.
-
There is no requirement to pre-purchase daily entry tickets, these can be purchased on arrival. The only pre-booking required is for private tours.
-
Encounter tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis, we do not do online bookings for holds & encounters. We suggest arriving early to purchase your encounter tickets when you arrive at the park.
-
Rain: Rain doesn’t bother most of the animals and we have sheltered areas in the encounters that we can utilise. On occasion an encounter may need to be cancelled if the animals do not wish to come out.
Heat: During days of extreme heat we may cancel encounters, particularly koala holds, often without much notice. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause your holiday but our animals wellbeing is our top priority.
Catastrophic fire days: We may cancel encounters and close on catastrophic fire days so our staff can ensure they are tending to the animals in case of emergency circumstances.
If we need to cancel encounters or close we will announce this on our facebook page.

We have a small selection of sandwiches, chips, cookies, icecream, hot and cold drinks. We have internal seating within the park grounds but currently no external seating. We currently do not have BBQ facilities.
The Welcome Stranger Cafe & Bar is located across the road with a great range of food to eat in or take away.
-
Most of our park is flat ground and easily accessible for prams, wheelchairs and walkers. There are some encounters that are unavailable as their entryways cannot allow for wheeled access.
-
We do have toilets within park grounds. We do not have public toilets available, the only toilets we have are available to paying park visitors.
-
We have annual passes available for locals and regular customers. Visit 3-4 times in the 12 month period to cover the cost of your annual pass.
-
No. Due to the nature of the park we cannot allow pets or animal aids. Many of our animals are afraid of animals (particularly dogs) and we also need to consider the biosecurity risk to our animals.
The only outside animals that can be brought on site is rescued wildlife that is being surrendered.
-
As it is an active wildlife hospital often with injured and orphaned wildlife under care we do not allow public access. These are wild animals that are not used to seeing large numbers of people and therefore we do not allow regular public entry for the safety and protection of the animals.
Some of our animals at the wildlife park are rescues that came through the rescue centre and cannot be released, particularly the bushfire koala joeys that you can see and hear about at our daily koala talks or the kangaroo joeys in our orphan yard.
